The origins of the Dunlop brand go back to the Scottish tire pioneer John Boyd Dunlop, who applied for the first patent for the bicycle pneumatic tire in 1888. Sports equipment has been manufactured since 1910 and in 1924 the production of tennis balls began. It is no wonder that Dunlop Sport, now owned by the Japanese SRI Sports Limited, is the world's number 1 in both tennis balls and squash balls due to its great expertise in rubber material. But Dunlop has also been a leading manufacturer in the racket sector in tennis and squash for a long time - Steffi Graf and John McEnroe already appreciated the products from Dunlop.
