The Ortles 2 TirolWool® Responsive Jacket is the perfect mid-weight insulation jacket for alpine mountaineering, ski mountaineering, and ice climbing
Developed in collaboration with leading athletes and mountain guide associations in the Alps, it offers professional insulation and functionality as a warm, protective mid or outer layer
It features a windproof and water-repellent nylon ripstop outer material on the upper body
2L Powertex is used on the shoulders and hem for increased waterproofing and durability
Inside, TirolWool® Responsive, our proprietary TirolWool® hybrid technology insulation filling, provides the right mix of insulation and breathability
We use a 100g filling
TirolWool® Responsive combines the natural benefits of wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep with a high lanolin content with the advanced warmth regulation of Responsive technology
The wool keeps you warm even when wet, supports body temperature regulation, and inhibits odor formation
Responsive is a patented blend of thermoreactive minerals that are pulverized and melted into a resin, which is then incorporated into the core of recycled polyester fibers
It has the unique ability to convert the body's radiant heat into infrared light, store it, and gradually release it back to the body
This stimulates circulation and blood flow, maintaining long-lasting insulation and accelerating recovery

The Ortles 2 TirolWool® Responsive Jacket features a Free Motion cut and now has a slightly longer, athletic cut that prevents it from riding up at the hem and stays securely in place under your harness while climbing
It can be worn alone as a warm outer layer or as an insulating mid layer under an outer jacket
The warm hood with drawstring has a gusset with zipper, allowing you to reduce its volume when not wearing a helmet
The high collar is integrated into the hood for additional neck protection
The two-way front zipper provides easy access while belaying
Adjustable Velcro closures at the cuffs prevent wind and snow from entering and fit over winter gloves, while the adjustable hem with internal regulation traps heat
Additionally, you can pack the Ortles 2 TirolWool® Responsive into its compression bag for space-saving storage in your backpack
