a major change in the U.S Military flight jacket design occurred with the introduction of the CWU-45/P, which replaced the MA-1 in 1977
the nylon version of the U.S Airforce and U.S Navy was of course still designed for colder climate zones (-5°C)
when the jacket was designed, officers noticed they needed functional pockets, but didn't want their pilots walking around with their hands in the pockets
